Mold structures have been standardized and used globally. Although each mold making facility can improve it to optimize it to suit each different product, a mold set basically must have mold plates, a cooling water system or mold heating system, a product rod system, positioning, guidance, pin return spring, etc.
It is difficult for a non-professional to distinguish what type of steel is used to make molds, so mold inspection is also difficult. Some common steels are also difficult to distinguish when tempered. Therefore, to avoid fraud in this matter, the contract should clearly state the steel material used to make molds. If you are more careful, ask the mold maker to provide additional documents on the origin of the raw materials, such as a purchase invoice. You can also ask a material expert when accepting the mold.

External finishing of the mold
- How do you feel when you first look at the mold? If you feel good when you look at the mold, then the mold maker you choose is definitely very careful and pays attention to every small detail. The mold is a mechanical component and usually not many people care about whether it is beautiful or ugly, but only care about the efficiency of the work. However, a mold that gives a pleasant look will partly demonstrate the level and skills of the manufacturer.
- Uniformity: The mold is assembled from many different mold panels and mold components. A complete mold set has mold panels and components that, when assembled, show continuity and mobility. Here you can see if the mold panels are square, whether the mold surface is flat or rough, whether the mold panels are too offset when assembled, and whether the components work well???
- Accompanying accessories: a simple mold set usually does not have many accessories. However, these accessories are essential: Mold lifting hook, Water line screw, Mold positioning ring, Mold locking clamp… If it is a hotrunner mold, it must come with a temperature controller and power cord.
Finishing inside the mold
- Mold surface gloss: Some plastic products require a glossy mold surface. To achieve that gloss, the corresponding mold surface must also be glossy. If you look at it with the naked eye, the gloss of the mold surface must be smooth as a mirror and there are no traces of knife running. - Logos, raised letters, sunken letters: Many products are attached with logos and letters, numbers on the product surface to mark the brand as well as limit creative infringement. - It is not enough to be beautiful, but it must be durable and safe. When accepting the mold, you should directly accept it on the press to see that the mold operates smoothly and safely. The product ejector system must operate smoothly and effectively, from the automatic ejector falling out to the gentle return to the correct position. The water line system must also be up to standard to maintain the appropriate mold temperature while preventing water from leaking out.
